White chocolate sauce with cacao butter
DIY white chocolate sauce using cacao butter to avoid soy, seed oils, and artificial flavors.
Ingredients
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup organic cane sugar
- 1/2 cup organic sweetened condensed milk
- 1 oz cacao butter
- 1/2 cup heavy cream (I prefer raw, full fat)
- 1/2 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 pinch sea salt
Directions
- 1
Add water and sugar to a medium saucepan. Heat on low until the sugar has been dissolved.
- 2
Add the condensed milk and simmer on medium heat for 3-4 minutes.
- 3
Turn off the heat and add the cacao butter. Whisk until melted.
- 4
Bring the mixture to a boil. Keep an eye on the mixture, as it can overflow in the pan. Adjust the heat accordingly. You will want it to be at a roiling boil for another 3-4 minutes to make sure that the cacao butter is thoroughly combined and will not separate. Stir occasionally.
- 5
Turn off the heat and add the heavy cream. Bring up to a simmer again for 3-4 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Turn off the heat and add the vanilla and sea salt. Whisk thoroughly to combine.
- 7
Add to a container and refrigerate!
Notes
Note: Sauce can be stored at least 4 weeks in the refrigerator.
