Ingredients
Syrup-based creamer for pancakes/coffee: whisk butter with buttermilk powder, add water, then simmer with sugars, salt and extracts, and finally blend with half-and-half for serving.
Directions
- 1
Add butter to pan and mostly melt before adding in your buttermilk powder - my strategy with this was to incorporate how one would make a gravy. Whisk until the powder has clumped up with the butter and then add in a little bit of water. Whisk until most of the chunks have dissolved, then add a bit more water. Whisk again until smooth. Add the rest of the water.
- 2
Add the sugars and whisk over medium heat until combined. Bring to a simmer and keep on a low boil for about 7 minutes, whisking occasionally.
- 3
Turn off the heat and add in the salts and extracts. Whisk to combine.
- 4
Now that you have completed your syrup, assemble your coffee creamer with one part syrup, 2 parts half and half. Use of the rest of the syrup to either make more creamer or to incorporate into lattes.
