Caramel Brûlée Syrup
I tested a Starbucks caramel Brûlée syrup and formulated a similar version using Panela sugar.
Ingredients
A caramel Brûlée syrup inspired by Starbucks, made with condensed milk, water, Panela sugar, vanilla, and salt; the Panela sugar is toasted for a toasted caramel flavor.
Directions
- 1
Add sugar to pan, spread evenly, and toast (if you have access to a kitchen torch).
- 2
Turn the heat on low and add your water. Stir on low until the sugar has been dissolved.
- 3
Turn the heat up to medium and simmer for 3-4 minutes.
- 4
Add your condensed milk, stir to combine.
- 5
Bring to a simmer over medium heat and simmer for another 3-4 minutes. The mixture will expand when boiling up the sides of the pan.
- 6
Turn off the heat and add salt and vanilla. Stir to combine. Enjoy!
Notes
I prefer not to make 'copycat' syrup recipes; I used a culinary torch to toast Panela sugar for a toasted caramel flavor.
