Chestnut praline latte syrup
Earthier, milder chestnut praline syrup for a Thanksgiving latte.
Ingredients
Chestnut praline latte syrup made from toasted chestnuts, pecans, sugars, and spices; simmered and strained.
Directions
- 1
Spread the nuts out on a baking sheet and toast for about 15-20 minutes (don’t let them burn, just until fragrant!) at 350F.
- 2
Remove from oven and roughly chop the nuts.
- 3
Add the nuts and rest of the ingredients (besides vanilla and salt) to a medium saucepan. Bring to a simmer.
- 4
Simmer for 18-22 minutes until syrup thickens.
- 5
Turn off the heat and add the vanilla and salt. Stir to combine.
- 6
Place strainer on top of the container you would like the syrup to be kept in, and carefully pour the syrup over the strainer into the jar.
Notes
I am not making “copycats” for Starbucks’ syrups, as my syrups will not be able to (nor would I want them to) replicate artificial flavors. This is a much earthier, milder version of Starbuck’s chestnut praline syrup, but the nutty flavor is in coffee! #chestnut #praline #pecans #chestnutpralinelatte #syrup #organic #coffee #latte #organiccoffee #natural #panela #wholefoods
